With Jamie Shannon of Big Guppy Creature Shop
In this workshop participants make two-dimensional collages out of cut-out magazine images, and then puppeteer those elements on a tabletop video set-up.
A healthy combination of cut-out magazine photos, newspaper clippings, textured paper and fabrics creates the backgrounds, characters and collage elements. The collage elements are then animated using brass clamps, string, tape, Popsicle sticks and rods to allow many hands to perform together. It is a table top improvised narrative that often comes together to make something very entertaining.
